How should I store my bulbs that I lifted over the winter?

As a rule, bulbs should be stored above freezing, in a cool, dry, dark place.  Many people elect to store their bulbs in a box of saw dust, vermiculite, or peat moss.  To keep them dark, you may consider putting them in paper bags or closed boxes.  If you can store them in a dark place, you may consider using a left-over mesh onion bag.  Care should be taken to avoid damaging as many roots as possible that might exist on the bulbs.
